PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic vulcanizate exhibiting a low compression set by compounding a polyester, a polar themoplastic (e.g. a polycarbonate or a polyphenylene oxide), a polar rubber (e.g. an acrylate or an ethylene- acrylate), and a curing agent (e.g. a polyfunctional oxazoline or oxazine compd). ;SOLUTION: This vulcanizate contains a mixture of 15-70 pts.wt. polar thermoplastic (e.g. an arom. polyester, a polycarbonate, or a polyphenylene oxide) having a number average mol.wt. of 40,000-100,000 and an m.p. or glass transition temp. of 60-260°C and 30-85 pts.wt. polar rubber (e.g. an acrylate or ethylene-acrylate rubber) having functional groups on the side chains or at the terminals and 1-12 pts.wt. (based on 100 pts.wt. rubber component) addition- type curing agent or crosslinker such as a polyfunctional oxazoline [e.g. 2,2'-bis(2-oxazoline)], a polyfunctional oxazine, a polyfunctional imidazoline, or a polyfunctional carbodiimide.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
