PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a votive light apparatus which gives an added value to a votive light which becomes tasteless for some reason or other and which is considered much so as to accompany a behavior of standing a candle by shining a display part provided at a cylinder equivalent to the trunk of the candle, and to provide a lantern using the votive light.;SOLUTION: The votive light consists of: a base part provided with a solar cell, a storing battery part and a circuit board; a cylinder part of a structure which is erected attachable and detachably to/from a fitting part provided at the base part; a switch device provided between the cylinder part and the fitting part; a light emitting part of a translucent material which is fitted to the upper end of the cylinder and houses a first light-emitting element inside; and a display part provided at a translucent part in the middle of the cylinder part.
