PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for selectively converging a methionine residue-containing chemical kind as an oxidant in a protein-peptide sample, wherein oxidized methionine residue and non-oxidized methionine residue can be present in a mixed state.;SOLUTION: A treatment method of peptide, containing sulfur atoms includes a process for adding hydrogen peroxide to a sample containing peptide (A), having S-alkylated cysteine residue and/or sulphenylated triptophan residue and methionine residue, to oxidize only the sulfur atom of the methionine residue as an oxidation process. In an analysis method of peptide containing sulfur atoms, the peptide, having S-alkylated cystein residue and/or the sulphenylated triptophan reside and the oxidized methionine residue, is measured by using a mass spectrometer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
