PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-insulating brick improving the durability of a vessel to a large extent in a pressure vessel for dealing a high temperature gas in a pressurized condition, or dealing a high temperature molten metal under a reduced pressure condition.;SOLUTION: A heat-insulating brick 1 which forms a dividing wall of an air heating furnace and a vacuum degassing furnace has an aeration insulating layer for insulating aeration at a definite depth from the low temperature- side end section 1B of heat gradient, and the aeration insulating layer is formed by impregnating the heat-insulating brick with a resin. The air-tight sealing property of the heat-insulating brick 1 can be kept even after the resin is thermally decomposed, because the resin remains in a definite region on the low temperature-side end section 1B, and prevents the current in the furnace from seeping outside and improves the durability of the pressure vessel to a large extent.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
