PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new oxetane compound capable of producing a polymer excellent in thick membrane-forming property, curing property, heat resistance, etc., a method for producing the same and an optical waveguide using the same.;SOLUTION: This tris(hydroxyphenyl)-1,3,5-tri(alkylbenzene) derivative having an oxetane ring is produced by cesium-phenolating phenols with cesium salts, and then reacting with a sulfonic acid ester.
