PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel for a pre-mixed compression self ignition type-spark ignition type-combined engine.;SOLUTION: This fuel for the engine is characterized by having a research method octane value of 93 to 97, a paraffin content of ≥75 vol.%, an aroma content, a naphthene content and an olefin content of ≤15 wt.%, respectively, an isooctane content of ≥10 vol.%, comprising at least four hydrocarbons (isomers are together counted as each hydrocarbon), containing three or more hydrocarbons (isomers are together counted as one kind hydrocarbon) each having a content of ≥2 vol.% based on the total amount of the fuel, and satisfying a requirement represented by the following hydrocarbon formula (1): -66≤-0.66×normal paraffin content (vol.%)-0.18×isoparaffin content (vol.%)+0.16×olefin content (vol.%)+0.25×naphthene content (vol.%)+0.49×aroma content (vol.%)≤-15.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
