PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve degradation of image quality, e. g. blurring of edge portions or discontinuous appearance of an oblique line, when pixel interpolation is not performed accurately, at the conversion of interlaced scanning images sequentially into scanning images. PSOLUTION: At conversion of interlaced scanning images sequentially into scanning images, movement search and motion compensation are performed with precision with matched the pixel array of a display; thus scanning line interpolation is carried out with high precision and the display image quality is improved.
