PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect that an ambient temperature sensor is not adequately connected without lowering a resolution of the temperature sensor by obviating the need of an additional hardware.;SOLUTION: When the ambient temperature sensor is not adequately connected, the ambient temperature sensor is set so as to output a prescribed temperature in a range that the ambient temperature can take, and then a time period of an OFF state that a power source of a recorder is in the shut-down state is measured (S601). When the time period of the OFF state is not less than a prescribed time period (S602), the connection condition of the ambient temperature sensor is judged on the basis of the comparison result between the ambient temperature and a temperature of a recording head (S604, S605).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
