PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spoke facilitating installation to a hub and tension adjustment of the spoke, and having better resistance to transmission of driving torque from the hub, as compared with a conventional metallic flat spoke.;SOLUTION: The spoke 10 for the bicycle wheel has a long slender main body 20 extending along a longitudinal axis X-X, and made of metallic material. The long slender main body 20 has a first end portion 30 attached to the hub 100 of the bicycle wheel, a second end portion 40 attached to a rim of the bicycle wheel, and a middle portion 50. The middle portion 50 has a part 60 made to be flat in a crossing direction Z intersecting at right angles with the longitudinal axis X-X and extending along the longitudinal axis X-X to the first end portion 30. The first end portion 30 of the spoke 10 is made to be flat in the crossing direction Z, and gradually changed to the part 60 made to be flat in the middle portion 50 along the longitudinal axis X-X.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
