PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove mud and earth of muddy water including excavation earth, while excavating a wide cavity part by a copy cutter.;SOLUTION: This shield machine has a cutter 5 in front of a body, and has the copy cutter 6 projectable from a peripheral surface of this cutter 5, and has a movable cutoff wall 21 capable of longitudinally cutting off the wide cavity part C by projecting from a body peripheral surface 1 to the wide cavity part C excavated by projecting the copy cutter 6. The wide cavity part C is excavated by the copy cutter 6 while advancing boring by the shield machine in a state of longitudinally cutting off the wide cavity part C in the boring advancing direction of the shield machine by projecting the cutoff wall 21 from the body peripheral surface of this shield machine. At the same time, a lubricant/high pressure water is injected into the wide cavity part C from a front face from the cutoff wall 21, and the lubricant/high pressure water is also injected into the wide cavity part C from the body peripheral surface 1.
