PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bioreactor which is suitable for biologically treating a polyphenol in waste water. SOLUTION: A treating tank 2 in which waste water and a microorganism- immobilized carrier 4 are placed is disposed in a bioreactor 1 for treating a polyphenol. The microorganism-immobilized carrier 4 is cellulose foam, and a new microorganism, Penisillum geastrivorus NM10b (FERM P-18166) is immobilized on the carrier. The waste water 3 is treated in the treating tank 2, thus enabling the continuous and efficient treatment of the polyphenol.
