PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of diagnosing the performance of a thermal power generation plant capable of easily diagnosing the performance and in which a part of the steam supplied to a steam turbine is extracted and supplied to the other plant.;SOLUTION: In this method of diagnosing the performance of the thermal power generation plant 10, a part of the steam supplied to the steam turbine 11 is supplied to the other plant. Based on process data on the thermal power generation plant 10, a boiler efficiency is calculated by using an input/output heat method, and a steam supply-corrected power generation efficiency in which a steam heat quantity fed to the other plant is corrected is calculated. A turbine efficiency is calculated by the relations among the boiler efficiency and steam supply corrected power generation efficiency calculated and the boiler efficiency, a steam supply-corrected power generation efficiency, and the turbine efficiency. Based on the boiler efficiency, the steam supply-corrected power generation efficiency, and the turbine efficiency, the performance of the thermal power generation plant is diagnosed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
