PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an integrated friction body, manufactured by single operation and heightening the coupling strength of a friction pad and a support.;SOLUTION: This integrated friction body includes: a support taking friction material containing reinforced fiber, thermosetting binder and normally used additive as base material; and at least one friction pad provided in contact with the support. The reinforced fiber pierces through a boundary layer between the support and the friction pad, thereby integrally coupling the friction pad and the support. The friction body is manufactured by coupling the friction material containing the reinforced fiber, the thermosetting binder, and the normally used additive, needling the reinforced fiber contained in the friction material constituting at least one friction pad to pass through at least part of the support and the other friction pad, and hardening the needled intermediate product in a metal mold corresponding to a friction body to be manufactured under the heating and pressurization conditions.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
