PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoconductor which maintains excellent image quality, sufficient durability, and high sensitivity, with minimum variations in potential even after repeated use, in particular, an electrophotographic photoconductor also suitable for using a light source for writing in a wavelength of 400-450 nm, an electrophotographic method using this electrophotographic photoconductor, an electrophotographic apparatus having this electrophotographic photoconductor, and a process cartridge for use in this electrophotographic apparatus.;SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoconductor has a photosensitive layer (a single-layer photosensitive layer or the charge transport layer of a multilayer photosensitive layer) containing a polyurethane resin, a polyester resin or a polycarbonate resin, each of which has a specific structural unit, or a protective layer. There are also provided the electrophotographic method using this electrophotographic photoconductor, the electrophotographic apparatus having this electrophotographic photoconductor, and the process cartridge for use in this electrophotographic apparatus.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
