PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor position sensing method capable of measuring the time between short-period edges of pulse signals emitted continuously from a sensor generating pulses with different intervals in two cases from each other, where the rotor is rotating in regular direction and in the reverse direction.;SOLUTION: The trailing edge of a pulse signal and the trailing edge of the previous pulse signal are entered from a first port 201 and stored in a first register 200A and a second register 200B, respectively, and the rising edge of a pulse signal and the trailing edge of the pulse signal are entered from a second port 202 and stored in a third register 200C and a fourth register 200D, respectively, and thereupon the position of the rotor is sensed by measuring the time period between the edges of the pulse signal stored in the registers 200A-200D.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
