PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique of treating waste of a series of asbestos-containing materials which covers the range from an emergency measure, demolition and transportation of a built asbestos-containing material to heating melt-treatment of demolished asbestos waste.;SOLUTION: The technique prevents scattering of asbestos in a treatment method of melting lithium silicate-impregnated asbestos waste in a melting oven to make the waste harmless. The lithium silicate impregnated in the asbestos waste gels in a temperature range of 500-1,100C to adhere to the surface of fibers and thereby prevents scattering of asbestos.
