PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tangential direction type form rolling device which is fitted to a machine tool to selectively perform the form rolling of a screw or other desired surface on a workpiece.;SOLUTION: This tangential direction type form rolling device mainly includes a body 21, and a pair of arms 22L and 22R having proximal edge portions 23L and 23R and distant edge portions 24L and 24R which are pivotably attached to the body. Rolls 28L and 28R are fitted to the distant edge portion of each arm, and act on the workpiece. A wedge 29 is fitted to the body. An actuator 30 is fitted to the body to change the space between roll axes. This improved form rolling head can incorporate a quick release mechanism to fit the roll to the arm of the machine tool device.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
