PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the production of nitrogen oxide by a cell in vitro or by a cell in a mammal.;SOLUTION: This method for reducing the production of the nitrogen oxide in a specimen comprises distinguishing the specimen requiring that the production of the nitrogen oxide is reduced, and administering a composition containing chitosan in an amount sufficient for reducing the production of the nitrogen oxide in the specimen, to the specimen.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
