PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam working method and a laser beam working apparatus for structural material with which in the case of cutting off or crushing an inorganic material, such as concrete, rock, or an organic material or a structural material composed of the both materials, the utilizing efficiency of the laser beam for working is obtained as highest as possible and a high speed working can be obtained. PSOLUTION: In the laser beam working method for structural material as a material to be worked, the energy loss of the laser beam is restrained and the laser beam working can be applied at high energy efficiency and at high speed by utilizing and working the crushing phenomenon caused by a heat stress while restraining the melting, high temperature softening, heat decomposition or sublimation.
