PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apoptosis inducer contained in potato anthocyanin, comprising an anthocyanin pigment-containing extract of anthocyanin-containing potatoes and having apoptosis inducing action effective especially as a prophylactic for cancer.;SOLUTION: The apoptosis inducer contained in the potato anthocyanin comprises the anthocyanin pigment-containing extract, wherein the extract is extracted from ancestral species of common agricultural species, such as Solanum tuberosum ssp. andigena L. and S. phureja Juz. et Buk., which contain the anthocyanin pigment in the skin/flesh parts, a heterologous agricultural species or the other species which is given by crossbreeding based on the above species and improving agronomic characteristics, such as density of the pigment, disease resistance, and yielding ability.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
