A braid-form carbon fiber material or strip-form carbon fiber material each in a resin-unimpregnated dry state is disposed at given intervals on the surface of a structure to be reinforced, without priming the surface. Subsequently, a guide member for preventing resin sagging is disposed so as to be in contact with the carbon fibers disposed or to leave a given space between the guide member and the carbon fibers. A resin having a viscosity as measured at 20°C of 0.1-5 Pa s is infiltrated into the carbon fiber material and cured. Thus, the carbon fiber material is bonded to the structure surface and is simultaneously converted into a fiber-reinforced composite material.
