PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method for performance of cation exchange resin capable of precisely evaluating the degree of deterioration of a cation exchange resin and precisely detecting the replacement timing of the cation exchange resin.;SOLUTION: In this method, the process of bringing a liquid into contact with the cation exchange resin and measuring the polystyrene sulfonic acid quantity contained in this liquid and the process of centrifugally separating the liquid after the contact with the cation exchange resin, filtering the liquid after centrifugal separation with a membrane filter, and measuring the polystyrene sulfonic acid quantity contained in the filtrate, are executed. On the basis of the fine particle type polystyrene sulfonic acid quantity calculated from the polystyrene sulfonic acid quantities obtained in both the processes, the degree of deterioration of the cation exchange resin is evaluated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
