PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music trial listening service by utilizing a mobile phone of a customer, in response to customer's request, and to devise ways of preventing surreptitious usage. PSOLUTION: In a music trial listening method, a trial listening request code issuing means transmits a wireless signal for a trial listening request code including time information to the inside of a store. When a music server receives the trial listening request code and an article code from a mobile information terminal, the music server decides whether, the time information of the trial listening request code is within a trial listening service permission period, and when it is within the trial listening service permission period, the music server transmits music data, corresponding to the article code to the mobile information terminal. A control means performs first to fourth steps according to user's input by the user interface, based on a trial listening program. In the first step, the demo request code is received and is temporarily stored. In the second step, the article code is read and stored temporarily. In the third step, the trial listening request code and the article code are transmitted to the music server. In the fourth step, the music data received from the music server is reproduced.
