PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device to hydraulically descale a continuous casting steel slab and/or a hot rolled metal strip. ;SOLUTION: A catching trough 2 is constituted so as to be turned in the direction opposite to a metal strip running direction around a turning point 9 without depending on a water injection nozzle 1, to be adjusted for a height of a metal strip 20 and to be automatically retreatable.
