PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate exchange work of a heat insulation layer of an underground heat storage tank by carrying out only a smaller number of steps if exchange of the heat insulation layer is required under some circumstances.;SOLUTION: There is provided a heat insulation panel 10 for the heat storage tank to perform the exchange work. The heat insulation panel 10 is formed of the heat insulation plates 11, and more specifically formed of the two or more heat insulation plates 11a, 11b arranged side by side by butting end faces thereof against each other, and a waterproof connection sheet 12 laminated on the heat insulation plates. At the time of modification, the heat insulation panel 10 for the heat storage tank, which has been folded to narrow its width, is inserted from a narrow aperture 23 formed in an existing manhole or the like into the tank, and then it is opened in the tank to be stuck to an inner wall surface of a concrete skeleton 21 in the heat storage tank 20. If the waterproof sheet 12 has a section 12b overhanging outward from intersecting two sides of the heat insulation plates, water cutoff performance at a joint portion of the heat insulation panels for the heat storage tank, is also ensured.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
