PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording apparatus by which frameless prints can be obtained without staining a rotary drum and without staining a recording medium.;SOLUTION: The ink jet recording apparatus holds the recording medium 2 on the rotary drum 1, has at least one ink jet recording head 5, and performs frameless recording to the recording medium 2 by scanning the recording head 5 beyond both side ends of the recording medium 2. The ink jet recording apparatus has ink receptacles for frameless recording 6 formed to be located outside of both side ends of the recording medium 2 on the rotary drum 1. In a preferable embodiment, the ink receptacle 6 is comprised of a groove dug along a rotating direction on the rotary drum 1, and an ink absorbing member fixed removably inside the groove.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
