PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically control a DSL connection bandwidth for every connection session of each user.;SOLUTION: A system for providing an Internet connection service is provided with a Broadband Access Server(BAS) 7 which receives a user's request for an xDSL network connection and establish a user connection to the Internet, a Remote Authentication Dial In User Service server(RADIUS server) 9 which is connected to the BAS 7 for receiving a request from the BAS 7 as to the user's authentication and sending the result to the BAS 7. The BAS 7 comprises a communication bandwidth control unit 8 which keeps the user's connection within a specified bandwidth in accordance with the connection bandwidth control instruction from the RADIUS server 9 and the RADIUS server 9 comprises a communication bandwidth determination unit 11 which, if the authentication is positive, determines an appropriate communication bandwidth for the connection session based on the authentication information and gives the control instruction to the BAS 7.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
