PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal pretilt angle imparting agent for a liquid crystal alignment film, the agent capable of controlling the tilt angle of a liquid crystal to a desired angle without rubbing by irradiating with light.;SOLUTION: The liquid crystal pretilt angle imparting agent for an optical alignment film is expressed by general formula (1).
