PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an isotope separation capable of efficiently separating or concentrating the isotope of an alkaline metal element and an alkaline earth element without using environmental pollution materials such as a mercury, by an isotope separation method in which separation factor is large and an exchange rate of isotope is fast, in other words, a height of separation stage is small.;SOLUTION: This invention provides an isotope separation method which is comprised of a process passing a solution of alkaline metal element and alkaline earth element through a separation column filled with a resin containing a cyclic compound functional group and an anion exchange group. And a process separating a prescribed suction area of the solution by using a chromatography. And this invention also provides an isotope separation apparatus 10 which has a separation means containing porous particles 28 which support a resin containing the cyclic compound functional group and the anion exchange group.
