P To provide a blocking preventing method for an earth and sand suction device and the earth and sand suction device which prevents the clogging of a hose even without using water. PSOLUTION: According to the blocking preventing method for the earth and sand suction device 1, a suction pump 5 is connected to a front end nozzle 3 for sucking up earth and sand 2 via the hose 4, and an earth and sand separating tank 6 which separates sucked air from the earth and sand 2 is connected to the middle part of the hose 4. A valve 10 for opening and closing the hose 4 is disposed ON the front end side of the hose 4. When pressure inside the earth and sand separating tank 6 or inside the hose 4 becomes pressure of a given level or lower and the valve 10 is closed to further lower the pressure inside the hose 4, and then the valve 10 is opened at a stroke to allow the hose 4 to suck air in so that the impact of the sucked air removes the earth and sand 2 sticking to the interior of the hose 4.
