PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insert retaining structure of a mold which can retain an insert easily and securely to the inner surface of a mold and allows a pin to be drawn out of a clip easily during mold releasing, a foam molding method using the insert retaining structure, the clip using the structure and the method and an EA material equipped with the clip. PSOLUTION: In the insert retaining structure of a mold, a clip securing pin 50 is securely inserted into the clip 40 having a through hole 42 with a stepped part 43 and consequently, the EA material 1 is fitted into the mold 60. Next, a urethane or the like is foam-molded inside the mold 60 and thus the EA material 1 which is buried in the surface part of the mold 60 is manufactured. Since projecting parts 47 are formed on the inner surface of the clip 40, the clip 40 does not budge during foam-molding or the like.
