PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a build-up welding material which has excellent dispersion property in a hardened build-up layer, in which sintered cemented carbide particles and binder metal are firmly welded together, and which imparts sufficient wear resistance and toughness, and an excavating tool which is hard-faced by using the same and a wear preventing plate.;SOLUTION: In the build-up welding material 1 composed of a steel tube 2 and the sintered cemented carbide particles 3 which are filled up in the inside of the steel tube 2, in the sintered cemented carbide particles 3, WC is dispersed and arranged in the binding phase of Co, or the binding phase of Co and Ni and also one or more kinds of TiC, TaC, NbC, VC and Cr are contained by 0.4-5.0 wt.% to the weight of the sintered cemented carbide particles 3 and the grain diameter of the sintered cemented carbide particle 3 lies within the range of 7-80 mesh, the weight ratio of the sintered cemented carbide particles 3 to the build-up welding material 1 is taken as 45-70 wt.% and also the weight ratio of the steel tube is taken as 25 to 50 wt.% to the weight of the build-up welding material 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
