PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a database construction method and a database construction system capable of storing a record having a logic link to logically close positions on a data storage medium.;SOLUTION: In storage of the record, it is determined whether an attribute of the record is registered or not by an attribute registration condition determining means 7. For storing the record with an unrecorded attribute, an initial storage means 8 is operated, and a sequential unregistered area for storing the record of this attribute is secured for storing the record. In storage of the record with a registered attribute, an additional storage prosperity determining means 9 is operated, and the record is stored in the sequential unregistered area prepared already for storing the record of this attribute. In the sequential unregistered area, a dummy record for storing the record is formed. When a capacity of the dummy record is set to be sufficiently large, shortage of a storage capacity occurring in storage or update (restoration) of the record can be prevented, and fragmentation (chained row) of the record can be reduced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
