PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a structure for temporarily coffering an underwater structure in which a wide space is secured.;SOLUTION: The structure comprises multiple stages of cylindrical frame bodies 10, 11 having an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the water bottom base 5 of the structure 1 capable of being stuck watertight to a temporary coffering height h from a water bottom 3. After the group of columnar members 17 with the temporary coffering height of h are so joined to the inner peripheral surface of the lowermost frame body 10 that the lower ends thereof are aligned with each other, the lowermost frame body 10 and the columnar members 17 are sunk and installed on the flat water bottom 3 at the peripheral edge of the base 5 of the structure. An underwater antiwashout concrete 20 is deposited between the inner peripheral surface of the sunk and installed frame body 10 and the outer peripheral surface of the base 5 of the structure to fix the group of the columnar members 17. After the each frame body 11 on the upper stage is stacked on the lowermost frame body 10 and the group of columnar members 17 is joined to the inner peripheral surface thereof, the inside of the stacked frame bodies 10, 11 is drained.
