PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solvent capable of sufficiently improving the reaction efficiency of de-halogenation of a halogenated aromatic compound, and a method for de-halogenating the halogenated aromatic compound by using the solvent.;SOLUTION: This solvent used for the de-halogenation of the halogenated aromatic compound comprises at least one kind selected from mineral oil and synthetic oil, and has 350 mass ppm sulfur content. By mixing the solvent with the halogenated aromatic compound and holding at a prescribed temperature, it is possible to sufficiently improve the reaction efficiency of the de-halogenation of the halogenated aromatic compound and realize the shortening of treating time and reduction of treating cost.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
