p53 expression promoting method and p53 expression promoting agent used therefor

A method for promoting the expression of p53 mRNA and an expression promoter used therefor are provided. Expression of the p53 gene is promoted by inhibiting the binding between RNA transcribed from exon 1 of the vegf-A gene and mRNA transcribed from the p53 gene. The inhibition of the binding is, for example, degradation of RNA transcribed from exon 1 of the vegf-A gene, inhibition of transcription of RNA from exon 1 of the vegf-A gene, or transcription from exon 1 of the vegf-A gene. This can be realized by binding a nucleic acid different from mRNA transcribed from the p53 gene to RNA.
