The invention refers to a method for thermal dissociation of natural carbon raw material SaSO3, in the production of Na2SO3 by the ammonium method in furnaces of the type for coal coking as a replacement of the now in use shaft-type furnaces. In this method the fuel and the products of its burning are not in direct contact with the natural raw material in the process of thermal dissociation. By the proposed method the concentration of CO2 reaches 100% and CaO is not polluted by the fuel. The fire-resistant material for building the walls, which are in contact with the natural raw material, inthe process of its dissociation are of the type of fire-resistant materials used for building the inner side of the shaft-type furnaces, in which the thermal dissociation of SaSO3, CO2 is done.
