METHOD AND SOURCE OF WIDE BAND WIDTH FOR THE PRODUCTION OF VISIBLE LIGHT AND THAT HAS A CHROMATICITY VALUE NEAR A BLACK BODY LOCUS AND A COLOR RENDERING INDEX OF MORE THAN 80 LIGHT AND LIGHT SOURCE WIDE It is a wide-bandwidth light source that includes: a solid-state light emitting device (102) that generates light of short wavelength; and quantum dot material (104) and phosphorus material (106), each of which is irradiated by part of the short-wavelength light. Short wavelength light has a spectrum with a first peak wavelength shorter than approximately 500 nm. The quantum dot material (104) absorbs part of the short wavelength light and resends it as long wavelength light that has a spectrum with a second peak wavelength longer than approximately 600 nm. The phosphor material (106) absorbs part of the short wavelength light and resends it as medium wavelength light that has a spectrum with a peak wavelength between the first and the second peak wavelengths. The light source is configured in such a way that part of each light (of short, medium and long wavelength) is emitted coincidentally as a light that has a chromatic value close to the blackbody locus and a higher color rendering index to 80.
