METHOD OF ASSESSING THE FIRE RESISTANCE OF A HYDRAULIC FLUID WHICH UNDERTAKES A POLYMER ANTI-SMOOTH ADDITIVE, METHOD OF IMPROVING THE FIRE RESISTANCE OF A HYDRAULIC FLUID AND CONCENTRATED FOR USE IN THE FIRE METHOD A method of monitoring the fire resistance method it involves measuring a property of the hydraulic fluid that changes depending on the hydraulic fluid used; relate to the measurement of fire resistance of hydraulic fluid; and, if necessary, take therapeutic action in order to improve the fire resistance of the hydraulic fluid. A suitable property is the molecular weight of the polymer antifog additives such as polymethyl methacrylate and the fire resistance can be improved by adding to the hydraulic fluid, a polymer concentrate in a suitable solvent when the measured molecular weight falls below a value acceptable.
