PROCESS OF OBTAINING MAGNETIC NANOPARTICLES USING IONIC LIQUIDS AS SOLVENTS AND ITS APPLICATION IN THE PREPARATION OF STABLE DISPERSIONS IN NON-POLAR SOLVENTS. The present invention relates to a process for obtaining magnetic nanoparticles (NP) based on the thermal decomposition of iron ion complexes, using ionic liquids (LI), as a solvent. The synthesis is carried out preferably in the absence of 0 ~ 2 ~ and at relatively low temperatures. The used LI can be recovered and reused in the synthesis process, without compromising the quality of the produced magnetic NP. This process of obtaining magnetic NP allows the modification of their surfaces by surface agents, in one step, contributing to the generation of stable dispersions as to sedimentation, both in the absence and in the presence of a magnetic field, in means of interest, such as non-polar organic solvents. These colloidal materials find application in several technological fields, such as biomedicine, in drug vectorization or hyperthermia, in devices for data storage, sensors, actuators, or in chemistry, in areas such as catalysis.
