The invented balancing method of fluctuating concentration of a component or components in a flowing gas is characterized in that the flowing gas with a fluctuating concentration of a component or components is subjected to flow through a layer of sorbent that is suitable for physical adsorption of the component or components saturated by the component or components. If the dwell of the flowing gas in the sorbent layer is sufficient, an effective economical balancing of the concentration of the component or components in the gas leaving the layer is achieved by the action of a physical adsorption of the component or components. The necessary dwell is to be determined experimentally by measurement on a model arrangement.
