The door has a door leaf that is moved between an opening position and a closing position, where the door leaf is arranged in a vertical plane. Two edge strips are fixedly arranged in the area of lateral edges of an opening, which is to be locked with the door leaf, and extends over the entire height of the door leaf in the door leaf-closing position, based on a base of the opening. A base area of the edge strips is made of plastic and is provided adjacent to the base of the opening. An edge unit (10) is made of metal, such as galvanized steel, and is arranged above the base area. An independent claim is also included for an edge strip for a door.
