COMPACT 3-PHASE AUTOTRANSFORMER WITH ON-LOAD TAP CHANGERS

A compact 3-phase autotransformer with on-load tap changers. The transformer (1) comprises 3-phase windings including respective tap windings (2,3,4) mounted on the three limbs (5, 6, 7) of a three limb magnetic material core (8) between the bottom yoke (9) and top yoke (10) of the core. The transformer further comprises three on-load tap changers (12, 13, 14) connected to the respective tap windings. The phase windings and respective tap windings are disposed parallel to the yoke axis (15) along the length of the transformer tank. The on-load tap changers are disposed at one end of the transformer tank with the centre line {€) passing through the tap changers lying perpendicular to the yoke axis (Fig 1). 3 1 MAR 2009
