This invention relates to an updraft gasifier for use with a large cardamom bed drying system characterised in that a combustion chamber of any shape, a plurality of insulated rings being provided into said chamber so as to make the chamber insulated to keep higher temperature therein, an air control dumper being provided to supply the air in the insulated chamber for providing producer gas, a fuel charging hopper being provided at the top end of said chamber for feeding the fuel in the combustion chamber, a grate being disposed into said chamber for removing ash from the chamber, a burner being connected to said hopper through a gas carrying duct for conveying producer gas to be burnt.
