摘要
The present investigation provides a process for inhibiting the adenosinetriphosphatase (ATPase) activity of fish actomyosin using heavy metals, it relates to the inhibition of nucleotide degrading enzyme adenosinetriphosphatase (ATPase) by zinc chloride. The process steps are: i) isolating the actomyosin from Indian oil sardine (Sardinella longiceps), ii) estimating the Ca2+ ATPase activity of actomyosin in presence of zinc chloride at various pH values and temperaturesjii) elucidating the inhibitory capacity of these compounds on Ca2+ ATPase activity at varied pH conditions and temperatures, which illustrates that the inhibition is effective in the pH range of 7.0 to 9.0 and the temperature range of 25°C to 45°C.
