The present invention relates to a novel surfactant composition for enhanced oil recovery. More particularly, the present invention relates to a novel surfactant composition for enhanced oil recovery utilizing aqueous surfactant solutions. Further more, this surfactant composition economically competent for young and mature crude oil reservoirs with a cost contribution of about 5 - 10 % of the total crude oil recovered. Moreover this invention relates to the method for enhanced oil recovery by using the above composition.
