Fryer fire supression system comprising a piping with a nozzle to direct fire suppression agent

A fire suppression system for a fryer is disclosed. The fryer has a fry vat (140) and at least one lid (110). The lid (110) can close on the fry vat (140) to create a headspace between an underside of the lid (110) and the fry vat (140). The headspace has an opening when the lid (110) is closed to vent the fryer. The system comprises a reservoir of fire suppression agent, which is connected via piping having at least at least one nozzle. The nozzle can direct the fire suppression agent through the opening into the headspace of the fry vat (140) to counteract a fire when the lid (110) of the fryer is closed.
