A dermal abrasion device (10) designed to abrade the outer layer of skin to improve the skins permeability. The device consists of an electric motor (50) inside a hand piece (12) which oscillates or rotates the abrasive tip (20) causing the abrasive tip to remove layers of skin when placed against it.. The device measures the level of skin permeability obtained by use of a first electrode (42) and a return electrode (44) which provide impedance data to a feedback control mechanism (30) which based on a desired level of permeability will halt the device when it calculates said level has been achieved.
