A sub-surface underwater anchor with a helical screw having a releasable swivel line attachment

An anchor assembly for subsurface installation in a ground surface with a swivelling line connection point is disclosed. The anchor assembly has an anchor body (147) having an anchoring feature for engaging with a ground surface which may be in the form of a helical screw. A swivel (115) for connecting a line (1) is realisably attached to the anchor body (147). Either the anchor body (147) or swivel (115) has a contact part and the other has a complementary slot for receiving the contact part. The swivel (115) engages with the anchor body (147) by moving the swivel (115) relative to the anchor (147) in a first direction so that the contact part passes through the slot and then in a second direction that is transverse to the first direction to an engagement position. In the illustrated embodiment the swivel (115) has the contact part and the slot is in the side of the hollow anchor body (147). The slot is sized to allow the contact part to pass through. The swivel (115) is then moved longitudinally to move the contact part away from the slot opening and up to the top of the anchor body (147). A retaining member (131) is secured in the slot to keep the anchor body (147) and swivel (115) contact part in alignment. Alternately a split retaining ring (128) could be used to secure the opposition of the swivel (115).
