The invention relates to an electric transformer with magnetic nanofluid cooling agent used within the energetic system and in the szstem of the electric energy transport and distribution networks. According to the invention, the electric transformer consists of two identical rectangular-shaped cores arranged back-to-back, each core consisting of two semicores (1, 2 and 26, 27) formed by rolling siliceous sheet metal strips of different width on a mandrel so as to result a magnetic circuit whose rectilinear central column is in steps, and has a cross section that can be included in a circle, and some high voltage and low voltage windings (8 and 9), respectively, the active part thus formed being secured in a metal tank (20) provided with cooling ribs (13 and 14), the tank (20) consisting of two parts assembled imperviously by soft welding and capable of elastic deformation and by the use of a resilient membrane (19) for taking over the temperature variation of the cooling liquid volume, at the upper side of the tank (20) there being located a high voltage terminal (18) through an insulated pass whose porcelain insulator (17) is of the composite type.
